Thomas (Tom) Meachum has vast Maryland government legal experience. He served in the Office of the Attorney General from 1980 to 1983 and in the Howard County Office of Law from 1983 to 1990. His current practice emphasizes zoning and development law, general real estate, employment law, estate litigation and alcohol beverage licensing.
Mr. Meachum advises his real estate clients in matters that include rezoning, special exceptions, conditional uses, waiver applications, development, variances, real estate contracts, title issues and covenants. He assists restaurants, stores and taverns in obtaining licenses for the sale of alcohol and provides general counsel to companies and individual employees on employment matters. Mr. Meachum is experienced in litigation concerning each of these matters as well.
Mr. Meachum is a former president of the Howard County Bar Association, and a member of the Board of Governors of the Maryland State Bar Association. He was President of ARC of Howard County, a graduate of Leadership Howard County and was twice appointed to the Howard County Charter Review Commission by the Howard County Council.
